About
Jennifer Gates-Foster is currently a research fellow at the Center for Hellenic Studies for the 2011-2012 academic year. She is on leave from her position as as Assistant Professor at the University of Texas, Austin. Jennifer received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 2005 and held the Moses and Mary Finley Junior Research Fellowship at the University of Cambridge from 2005-2007. Her research interests are rooted in the Hellenistic and Early Roman Near East, particularly Egypt. She is currently at work on the publication of archaeological survey material from the Eastern Desert of Egypt as well as a book examining Hellenistic Egypt from the perspective of its social and cultural boundaries.
