About

I'm a graduate student in philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin. Before coming to Texas I studied philosophy and literature at the University of Tübingen and, for a short time, at Trinity College, Dublin.

I mainly work in the philosophy of mind, but I'm also interested in various topics in metaphysics, epistemology, the philosophy of language, and the philosophy of religion.

My principle research topic is the nature of perceptual experience. I'm writing a dissertation on the perceptual representation of temporal properties (duration, change, succession, motion). This relates to a number of central topics in the philosophy of perception, like the question of what properties are represented in experience, or what the nature of the perceiving relation and of perceptual content is.

I also find myself thinking about perceptual justification, the internalism-externalism debate in epistemology, and the metaphysics of mind.
