About
I’m associate professor of rhetoric & writing, English, and communication studies at the University of Texas at Austin and hold the Kenneth Burke Chair of Rhetoric at the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland. I teach rhetorical theory, continental philosophy, digital rhetorics, and writing theory, and I am director of the Digital Writing and Research Lab at UT. Books include: Breaking Up Totality: A Rhetoric of Laughter (2000), Inessential Solidarity: Rhetoric and Foreigner Relations (2010), Women’s Ways of Making it In Rhetoric and Composition (2008, with Michelle Ballif and Roxanne Mountford), and The UberReader: Selected Works of Avital Ronell (2008, ed.) and Reading Ronell (2009, ed.).
